What this guide covers
You can prepare the purchase yourself. This guide explains the information needed; it does not offer a universal pin diagram. An incorrect connection can damage the appliance and create a hazard.
A Dutch paired cooking circuit, called a kookgroep, is not automatically interchangeable with a diagram marked 2N~ in an appliance manual. Even a pre-fitted plug needs the appliance and house connection to match. Do not measure pins or change terminal bridges from an internet photograph. The installation may require the specified appliance flex, connection accessory, cable route and protective equipment. Their exact types and quantities follow assessment. Some appliances require a fixed connection. Do not automatically buy a Perilex plug, adapter or advertised complete cooking-circuit kit.

Gather information about the appliance, home and kitchen
Record the hob's exact make and model, installation manual, input power and permitted connection configurations. A retailer description saying “two-phase” is insufficient.
For the home, collect available supply and consumer-unit records and details of the existing cooking connection. Read only information accessible without opening enclosures. Mark uncertain details unknown.
For the kitchen, record the hob position, access to the connection, cut-out dimensions, ventilation requirements and other substantial loads. Give the kitchen supplier and electrician the same model information.

Make an appliance inventory
An example list might contain a 7,400 W hob, a 3,000 W oven and a 2,000 W dishwasher. Their nameplate total is 12,400 W. This does not mean they continuously draw that amount together or prove that a particular supply arrangement is suitable.
The electrician considers circuit distribution, protection, wiring and the appliance's required configuration. Milieu Centraal explains induction connection considerations. General cost examples on an information site are not a quote for your kitchen.
Prepare before purchasing connection parts
You do not need a voltage tester or wiring tools to prepare this enquiry. Have the appliance manual, model details, kitchen plan and available installation records ready. Confirm the intended connection before ordering the hob.

Some appliances require a fixed connection. Do not automatically buy a Perilex plug, adapter or advertised complete cooking-circuit kit.
Check whether the appliance supplier includes a lead or plug and who is responsible for connecting it. This avoids duplicate purchases and a delivery that omits necessary electrical work.
Agree the handover
Ask for an explanation of the chosen connection, any configured hob power limit, circuit labelling and the checks included. Keep the manual and agreements about supply, installation and warranty. A hob heating up briefly is not a complete installation check.
Can a new hob use the old Perilex socket?
Only after compatibility has been established. A connector that looks the same is insufficient.
Does “two-phase” always mean the same thing?
No. Obtain the exact appliance diagram and a verified description of the supply. The installer needs to reconcile them.
Do all induction hobs require Perilex?
Some models are designed for an ordinary plug. Use only the connection the manufacturer permits, with the circuit's suitability assessed. Do not convert a supplied connection type yourself.
Discuss your induction hob with CAS. Include the exact model and kitchen plan so the connection requirements can be assessed.
Materials and specifications
Before buying, check that the size, type and specification suit your installation. Use the article list and tools to work out the quantities you need.
Tape measure and plan

- Quantity and unit
- One tape measure and current plan
- Specification
- Survey accessible surfaces only; measurements do not establish electrical suitability.
Manuals and model details
- Quantity and unit
- One current manual per exact product
- Specification
- Use exact model/revision, with conflicting instructions unresolved until manufacturer/installer clarification.
Appliances and simultaneous demand
Unknown power stays unknown. The known subtotal does not establish safe loading, circuits, phases, protection or cable size. Take the inventory to your electrician.
Worked example and formula
Kettle 2200 W + dishwasher 2000 W + microwave 1400 W = 5600 W (5.6 kW). This does not approve a circuit.
known W = sum of included known input W × count
